Des "anges" pour pèlerins perdus
En descendant de la 2e crête vers Moutier, on a perdu le sentier... Sans l'aide de cette famille, qui nous a guidés jusqu'en bas, au coucher du soleil, notre arrivée aurait été bien plus compliquée!
On our way down from the 2nd ridge toward Moutier, we lost the trail... Without the help of this family, who led us down the rest of the way, while the sun was setting, our arrival would have been much more complicated! More "angels" for lost pilgrims...

L'eau est vitale / Water is vital
On avait besoin de remplir nos gourdes à Vellerat mais le réservoir local était en travaux... Alors ce voisin nous a offert 2 grandes bouteilles d'eau. Un grand merci à cet "ange" du chemin!
We needed to top off in water in Vellerat but the local réservoir was out if order... So this neighbor offered us 2 big bottles of water. A big thanks to this "angel" along the path!
Lessive à sécher / Laundry to dry
Avec l'humidité ambiante, ma lessive d'hier soir n'était pas sec ce matin... Alors, une pause pique-nique au soleil était l'occasion de "rattraper"!
With the humidity in the air, my laundry from last night wasn't dry this morning... So, our picnic break in the sun was the chance to "catch up"!

Nous sommes enfin arrivés à Delémont, capitale du Canton du Jura, à 19h30... après 31 km de marche... Ça mérite bien une bière!
We finally arrived at 7:30 pm in Delémont, capital of the Canton of the Jura... after 31 km of hiking... That deserves a beer!
Bon repas à Kleinlützel
Michel parlait justement en chemin de manger du poisson... C'était très bon, à l'auberge de l'Ange ("Engel"), où on nous a servis malgré notre arrivée tardive (14h).
Michel had just been talking about eating fish this morning, as we hiked... And the fish was very good at the Angel ("Engel") Inn in Kleinlützel, where we were served despite our late arrival (2 pm).

Accueil fantastique chez Sofia à Flüh (SO)
Non seulement elle peint des tableaux magnifiques, Sofia nous a fait un accueil génial dans son B&B à Flüh, tout juste dans le Canton de Soleure. Des repas excellents et un partage exceptionnel autour de la foi... avec une prière de bénédiction pour nous ce matin qui nous a beaucoup touchés. Merci, Sofia!
Not only does she paint beautifully, Sofia gave us a wonderful welcome at her B&B in Flüh, just over the cantonal border from Basel, in the Canton of Solothurn. Great meals and exceptional sharing about faith... with a blessing prayer over us thus morning that really touched us. Thank you, Sofia!

Le long de la frontière F / CH
Une fois sorti de la ville, le sentier nous mène souvent sur la ligne même de la frontière entre la France (à droite du chemin ici) et la Suisse, à gauche. Difficile à imaginer à quoi ressemblait cette frontière pendant la guerre...
Once out of the city, the trail often runs right along the border line between France (on the right side of the path here) and Switzerland, on the left. Hard to imagine what this border looked like during the war..

Le grand philosophe et théologien hollandais est mort à Bâle en 1536 et a été enterré ici dans la cathédrale.
The great Dutch philosopher and theologian Erasmus of Rotterdam died in Basel in 1536 and was buried here in the cathedral.

Notre pèlerinage Bâle-Vevey commence au Rhin... bien plus large ici qu'à sa source, où nous l'avons traversé en 2 pas au mois de juillet!
Our pilgrimage from Basel to Vevey begins at the Rhine River... much larger here than at its source, where we hopped over it in 2 steps in July!
