J’avais prévu plusieurs marches pour cette année 2020…
avant que le COVID-19 ne chamboule tout ! Pour finir, les structures
d’hébergement se sont rouvertes en Suisse, les mesures sanitaires ont été
assouplies et je vais pouvoir faire une bonne marche au mois de juillet, celle
que j’avais prévue sur le nouveau raccordement du Chemin de St-Jacques (Camino
de Santiago). Celui-ci traverse 2 cols alpins, puis descend la Vallée du Rhône jusqu’à
l’abbaye de St-Maurice, en passant par le village de Saillon, où nous habitons
depuis ma retraite, il y a 4 ans.
I had planned several hikes for the year
2020… up until COVID-19 upset all my plans! In the end, lodging structures have
opened up again in Switzerland, the health restrictions have been relaxed a bit
and I’m going to be able to do a good hike in July, the one I had planned on a
new link for the Way of St. James (Camino de Santiago). This trail crosses 2
Alpine passes, then goes down the Rhone River Valley to the 1500-year-old abbey
of St-Maurice, passing through our village of Saillon, where we’ve been living
since my retirement 4 years ago.
