Monika

Notre "ange" ce matin était Monika, qui est arrivé en vélo à un endroit où nous essayions de traverser une route. Elle s'est arrêtée pour parler et nous a donné de bonnes infos sur les sentiers et les lieux que nous allions traverser aujourd'hui, plus une bonne dose d'encouragement. 

This morning's "angel" was Monika, who arrived with her bike at a place where we were waiting to cross a highway. She stopped to talk and gave us good info about the trails and the places we would pass through today, plus her encouragement. 

Wanderpass

Comme sur le Camino de Santiago, nous essayons d'avoir un "Stempel" chaque jour dans notre carnet, dans les lieux où nous passons. Ici, il n'y a pas toujours dans les hébergements alors parfois on passe à la mairie (Rathaus) pour qu'on tamponne nos carnets.

Like on the Camino de Santiago, we try to get a rubber stamp in our pilgrim passports each day in a place we pass through. In this area, there is not always a stamp in the places we stay so we stop at the town hall and ask them to stamp our "Wanderpass".

GPS...

Le chemin n'est pas toujours bien balisé... alors Jean-Philippe doit se référer au GPS pour nous trouver un chemin convenable. 

The way us not always well-marked... so Jean-Philippe has to use his GPS to find a decent way to get to the right place.

 

8 juillet / July : Perouse

En 1699, sur ordre du duc Eberhard Ludwig de Wurtemberg, 42 familles vaudoises du Piémont devaient être installées à Heimsheim (où nous avons dormi cette nuit). Mais devant l'opposition massive des habitants, ces familles (71 pour finir) de Perosa, dans la vallée de Chisone, se sont installées 4 km à l'est et ont appelé leur colonie "Perouse".

In 1699, by order of Duke Eberhard Ludwig of Wurtemberg, 42 Waldensian families were supposed to be able to settle in Heimsheim, where we slept last night. But facing strong opposition from the local population, the 71 families who actually arrived from Perosa in the Chisone Valley finally settled 4 km east of there, calling their colony "Perouse".

A Merklingen, on découvre une église-château-fort, avec douves... et de la fraicheur en cette journée assez chaude.

Sabine - 7 juillet / July

Notre "ange" aujourd'hui s'appelle Sabine. Quand on s'arrête dans sa boulangerie à Simmozheim à midi pour acheter 2 sandwiches pour notre pique-nique, elle nous offre 2 grands bretzels 🥨 gratis, ainsi qu'un joyeux "Alléluia!" et un moment de partage dans la foi.

Our "angel" today is Sabine, in the bakery of Simmozheim. When we stopped at noon to buy sandwiches for our picnic, she offered us 2 big bretzels 🥨 for free, along with an enthusiastic "Hallelujah!" and shared about her faith.
