Après une très chouette étape chez mes amis Pierre Alain + Marie-Aimée, + petit-déjeuner à notre tea-room préféré, le Blé d'or, je marche les 3 km jusqu'à la gare d'Aigle, où m'attend Alain, ami de longue date. Il vient faire cette étape avec moi.
Passage par le beau vignoble d'Yvorne, puis chemin plat via Roche jusqu'à Villeneuve, où l'on se permet une glace au bord du Lac Léman + Alain va profiter pour se rafraîchir dans l'eau.
De là, chemin plat au bord du lac jusqu'à Montreux, en passant par le château de Chillon, avant de monter à la cure, où un autre collègue diacre, Pierre, m'attend à la cure avec des figues de son jardin er une bonne bière bio. Des choses que je n'ai pas l'habitude de m'acheter mais que j'apprécie à la fin de cette étape bien ensoleillée. Puis belle soirée de partage autour d'un bon repas avec Pierre et son épouse Antoinette, qui ont aussi marché sur le Chemin de Compostelle... et savent très bien un pèlerin !

breakfast at our favorite tea-room, the Blé d'or, I hike the 3 km to the Aigle train station, where longtime friend Alain is waiting for me. He has come to do today's stage with me.
We pass par the beautiful vineyards of Yvorne, then a long flat hike to Villeneuve, where we allow ourselves an ice cream + Alain takes a cool dip in the lake. From there, a lovely walk along the lakeside, past the Chillon Castle to Montreux, where another collègue, Pierre, awaits me at the protestant parsonage, with fresh figs from his garden and a cold "bio" beer. Things I wouldn't buy myself but that "hit the spot" at the end of this warm, sunny stage. Followed by a nice evening of discussion and shared stores with Pierre + his wife Antoinette, who have also done parts of the Way of St. James (Camino de Santiago)... and who know how to host a pilgrim !
