Après beaucoup de difficulté à trouver le bon chemin pour quitter Arras -- plusieurs options mais très peu de balises... -- j'ai enfin trouvé le GR 145 qu'il valait la peine de suivre jusqu'aux 3/4 de l'étape. De là, le GR suit un autre parcours, plus au nord, par rapport à la route historique proposée par AIVF + les autres associations pour pèlerins... et où j'ai réservé mes hébergements.
5 km pénibles à la fin de l'étape sur la route D341; si j'avais à refaire, je prendrais les petites routes via Acq.
Accueil ... différent ce soir à Camblain l'Abbé, dans une communauté Saint Pie X (= Ecône)... A l'église, j'avais l'impression de me retrouver dans les années 50, tant ça ressemblait aux souvenirs de mon enfance...
Et la discussion à table avec les frères a été très animée... "Nous prierons que Dieu vous éclaire..." m'ont-ils dit à la fin...
After much difficulty finding the right way to leave Arras -- several options but very few markers... -- I finally found the GR 145, which was worth following for the first 3/4 of this stage. After that the GR follows a different route, more to the north, as opposed to the historic route proposed by AIVF and the other pilgrim associations... and where I've reserved my accomodations.
The last 5 km today were no fun, along the D341 highway; if I had it to do over, I would definitely take the smaller roads, via Acq.
The welcome was... different this evening in Camblain l'Abbé, in a community of the St. Pius X Fraternity (= Ecône). I had the impression of being back in the 1950s, as it was so much like the Catholic Church of my childhood...
And the discussion with the brothers at the dinner table was quite lively... "We will pray that God enlightens you..." they said to me at the end...
