La route "historique" de la Leulène n'est pas évidente à suivre partout... Certaines parties sont aujourd'hui impracticables. Le gué à Tournehem est à présent un grand chantier, comme on l'a vu ce matin.
Le tracé "vert" sur la carte de Soeur Lucie (et de Philippe) n'est pas balisé, ni facile à trouver, sur le terrain. Je me suis perdu pendant presqu'une heure cet après-midi, ce qui a rajouté env. 3 km à l'ètape... et une bonne dose de fatigue mentale aux efforts du corps...
A la fin, je suis resté sur la route D215 pour les derniers km jusqu'à Guînes, malgré une circulation croissante. Vraiment pas envie de me paumer encore une fois...
Pour l'anecdote, 3 personnes m'ont dit aujourd'hui que j'étais "à 5 km" de Guînes: la première à 13h30... la 2e à 15h ... et la 3e à 16h... C'est la 3e personne qui avait raison!
The "historic" route of La Leulène is not easy to follow everywhere... Some parts are not accessible today. The fording place on the Hem River was a big construction site when Denise + I visited there this morning.
The "green" path shown on Sister Lucie's (and Philippe's) map is not signposted, and not easy to find on the terrain. I got lost for about an hour this afternoon, which added about 3 km to the stage... and added a lot of mental fatigue to the physical effort...
In the end, I stayed on the D215 highway for the last few km into Guînes. Despite increasing traffic, I really did not want to get lost again...
Three different people told me today that I was "5 km away" from Guînes: the 1st person at 1:30 p.m. ... the 2nd person at 3:00 p.m. ... and the 3rd person at 4:00 p.m. It was the 3rd person who was right!
