Ma cheville n'étant pas prête ce matin à faire une étape, j'ai décidé de rester un jour de plus à Reims et de décaler mes réservations pour les prochains jours, ce qui a heureusement été possible.
J'ai pris le tram pour aller au culte à la paroisse protestante, présidé par un prédicateur laïc. Culte un peu plus long que chez nous -- 1h40 -- mais la différence nous fait regarder nos habitudes autrement...
Alain + France, un couple rencontré à l'église, m'ont gentiment invité à manger avec eux au resto. Un moment très riche en partage sur la foi, les Eglises, le monde et la vie.
Reims fait ce weekend portes ouvertes pour beaucoup de sites historiques, naturels + culturels, alors j'en ai profité pour visiter la basilique de St-Rémi (plus belle que la cathédrale) et le musée adjacent. Puis retour en bus + tram au gîte pour une soirée tranquille, en espérant pouvoir reprendre le chemin correctement demain...
My ankle was not ready this morning for a day of hiking with the pack, so I decided to take a rest day in Rheims and push back my reservations by a day for the next few stages, which fortunately was possible.
I took the tram to go to church at the Prorestant parish here. The service, led by a lay preacher, was a bit longer than in Switzerland -- 1 hour 40 min -- but differences help us to look at our habits in a new way...
Alain + France, a couple I met at church, nicely invited me to join them.for lunch in a local restaurant. A time rich in sharing our ideas and experiences re. faith, churches, the world and life in general.
It 's an open-doors weekend in Rheims for historical, natural + cultural places, so I took advantage to visit St. Rémi's Basilica (more beautiful than the Cathedral) and the adjacent museum. Then bus + tram back to the hostel for a quiet evening, with hopes of being able to properly resume hiking tomorrow...
