Me voilà prêt à repartir sur la Via Francigena, de l'endroit où j'ai dû arrêter il y a une année... Chavanges, près de Vitry-le-François. Si tout va bien, j'espère arriver à Canterbury autour du 10 octobre, après env. 500 km de marche.
J'ai passablement de difficulté à trouver des gîtes sur ce tronçon, d'après mes téléphones et e-mails de cette dernière semaine... Mais j'ai enfin pu en trouver quelques-uns, et j'espère que ça ira!
Puis il y a le changement de temps, pour un pèlerinage en automne plutôt que la chaleur du mois de juillet... Donc un paquetage différent. On annonce une météo plutôt fraîche pour ces prochains jours, avec un peu de pluie... mais "pluie du matin n'arrête pas le pèlerin" !

Here I am ready to set off again on the Via Francigena, from the spot where I had to stop last year... Chavanges, near the town of Vitry-le-François. If all goes well, I hope to arrive in Canterbury around October 10th, after about 500 km of hiking.
I've had quite a bit of trouble finding lodging along this section, as evidenced in my phone calls and e-mails of the past week... But I was able to find a few, and I hope it will go well!
Then there's the change of weather, for an autumn pilgrimage rather than in the heat of July... Which means different clothes and equipment. They're forecasting cool weather the next few days, with some rain... but "rain in the morning doesn't stop the pilgrim" !
