7 août / August 7th : Belfast

 

   Michel et moi sommes arrivés en Irlande le vendredi 7 août, en avion. Mon ami John Duncan, connu dans les années 80 lorsqu’on était tous les deux responsables de Jeunesse pour Christ pour nos pays respectifs (Irlande du Nord et la Suisse), est venu nous chercher à l’aéroport pour nous amener à notre hébergement au centre de Belfast.

Nous avons eu la chance d’arriver pendant le « Fleadh » (prononcé « flaa »), un grand festival de musique irlandaise. Beaucoup de monde dans la rue, avec des animations musicales un peu partout, notamment des enfants qui jouaient ou dansaient. De l’ambiance !

Michel and I arrived in Ireland on Friday, August 7^th, by plane. My friend John Duncan, whom I met in the 1980s when we were both Youth for Christ directors for our respective countries (Northern Ireland and Switzerland), came to get us at the airport and took us to our lodging in the center of Belfast.

We were lucky to arrive during the “Fleadh” (pronounced “flaa”), a big festival of Irish music. Loads of people in the streets, with music and dancing in every street, often by children. Great atmosphere!
