Une belle journée ensoleillée et chaude... avec des montées et des descentes, dont une terrible (pour nous) sur des cailloux instables pour joindre la plaine au Grand Lemps.
J'ai pu revérifier (après mon passage ici en 2003) que le soleil qui brille à 33°C fait ramollir le goudron des routes au point que les souliers des pèlerins impriment leur marque sur les chaussées rafistolés qu'on trouve souvent sous nos pieds ici...
Une triste première sur le Camino pour moi cet après-midi: la maison où j'avais réservé était tellement sale et en désordre que Bethany et moi avons décidé de marcher encore 7 km pour avoir un hébergement correct... C'est très rare qu'un tel cas se produise.
Nous avons heureusement pu trouver un gîte où nous avons été très bien accueillis. Et on a pris 7 km d'avance sur l'étape de demain!
A beautiful day, sunny and hot... with hills to go up and down... and a terrible (for us) descent on large, unstable rocks, to reach the plain at Le Grand Lemps.
I was able to verify (after my passage here in 2003) that the sun shining at 33°C (91°F) softens the tar often used here to repair the roads, to the point where the passing pilgrim's shoes leave a clear mark on the roadway...
Then finally, a sad "first" for me on the Camino, this afternoon: the house where I had reserved for tonight was so dirty and in such disorder that Bethany and I decided to hike another 7 km in order to have a decent place to stay... It's very rare that such an incident occurs.
We were fortunately able to find a place where we were very well received. And we got a 7-km.head start on tomorrow's stage!
