Après discussion avec nos hôtes, nous optons pour la "variante" côté est du Mont Tournier. Il y a toujours les 600m de montée mais c'est la pente est plus facile...
En chemin, un jeune couple nous laisse prendre la pause devant chez eux et nous offre à boire... et leur chien, un labrador chocolat comme mon Jack, m'offre plein de câlins, sentant peut-être que mon chien me manquait...
En redescendant du col, on demande de nouveau de l'eau chez l'habitant, qui nous laisse aussi pique-niquer dans son jardin. Peu après, nous voyons arriver Vincent, qui avait pris le sentier principal ... et dû se battre encore avec les chenilles! Pas de chenilles sur notre variante...
On avait arrangé avec le couple qui nous reçoit en accueil jacquaire à St-Génix de venir nous chercher si nous n'arrivions pas à finir cette étape, à cause du dénivelé. Pour finir, nous avons pu tout faire à pied... On essaiera de faire moins ces prochains jours!
After talking with our hosts, we opt for the "variante" on the east side of Mont Tournier. We still have to hike up 600 meters elevation but the slope is easier...
On the way up, a young couple lets us take a break in front of their house and offers us water... and their dog, a chocolate lab like my Jack, offers me lots of pets, maybe sensing that I miss my dog...
On the way down from the pass, we ask again at a house for water, and the owner also lets us eat our picnic in fro t of their house. Shortly after, we see Vincent walk by, who had taken the main trail... and had to "fight" with the caterpillars! No caterpillars on our "variante"...
We had arranged with our hosts for this evening that they come and get us if we couldn't make it to the end of the stage, if the downhill part was too tough on our knees. In the end, we were able to do it all on foot... We'll try to do less the next few days!
