Gochsheim - château

À la fin de l'année 1698, environ 180 huguenots arrivèrent à Gochsheim. Le duc Frédéric-Auguste de Wurtemberg-Neuenstadt autorisa la création d'une colonie au nord du village, baptisée « Augustistadt » en son honneur. Elle a existé pendant environ 30 ans. En raison de conflits avec les autorités locales, les habitants, pour la plupart pauvres, sont partis, beaucoup d'entre eux s'installant dans la commune voisine de Gochsheim. En 1723, la colonie comptait encore 18 familles.

At the end of 1698, approximately 180 Huguenots arrived in Gochsheim. Duke Frederick Augustus of Württemberg-Neuenstadt authorized the establishment of a colony north of the village, named “Augustistadt” in his honor. It existed for about 30 years. Due to conflicts with local authorities, the residents—most of whom were poor—left, with many of them settling in the neighboring town of Gochsheim. In 1723, the colony still had 18 families.
