Vaudois de Villar Perosa s'installèrent dans un village composé d'une longue
rue principale et d'une petite rue transversale. Certains d'entre eux
déménagèrent dès 1701 à Kleinvillars, dans la commune voisine de Knittlingen.
L'église fut construite vers 1750. Jusqu'en 1850 environ, les habitants de
Großvillars élevaient des
vers à soie dans des plantations de mûriers et
fabriquaient de précieux tissus de soie dans une manufacture.
In 1699, 379 Waldensians from Villar Perosa
settled in a village with one long main street and one cross street. Some of
them moved in 1701 to Kleinvillars, in the neighboring town of Knittlingen. The
church here was built in 1750. Until about 1850, the residents of Großvillars
raised silkworms in mulberry groves and produced fine silk fabrics in a
factory.
