Today’s stage is one of the longest of our
trip, fortunately with quite a bit in the shade. The last section goes up and
up towards Dilsberg… before a fairly steep downhill grade to reach the banks of
the Neckar River. A steep downhill section which my knees and feet did not
appreciate so much…
En suivant le Neckar, qui fait une grosse boucle à cette endroit qui devait être assez stratégique, on arrive dans une dizaine de kilomètres à Heidelberg, où se trouve la plus vieille université d’Allemagne, fondée en 1386.
If one follows the Neckar downstream from Neckarsteinach,
where the river makes a very large bend which must have made this a very strategic
spot, it leads to the city of Heidelberg, site of the oldest university in
Germany, founded in 1386.
