Lobenfeld - Kloster

Nous faisons halte vers l’ancien monastère de Lobenfeld, fondé avant 1150 par des chanoines augustiniens. Devenu abbaye cistercienne au 13^e siècle, ce lieu est devenu protestant lors de la Réforme, en 1560. Il présente aujourd’hui une combinaison étonnante de vieilles pierres et fresques avec un aménagement moderne qui montre bien que c’est un lieu bien vivant aujourd'hui pour la communauté chrétienne locale.

We stop for a break at Lobenfeld Abbey, a monastery founded before 1150 by Augustinian canons. It came into possession of the Cistercian order probably during the 13^th century and passed into Protestant hands in 1560 with the Reformation. Today it presents a striking combination of old stones and frescoes with modern furnishings which show that it is a place of active parish life today.
