In Sinsheim, we come across several trail markers for the « Camino” (Way of St. James), a nice link to other pilgrim trails I’ve enjoyed hiking in the past.
À Daisbach, nous
faisons connaissance “par hazard” avec un nouvel « ange » :
Daniel, un Français qui a immigré ici et qui est l’actuel maire de ce village. Il
nous entend parler français et nous invite chez lui pour boire un café et partager
un peu sur nos chemins de vie respectifs. Une chouette rencontre. Nous ne
sommes qu’à moitié surpris quand Daniel nous dit qu’il ne connaît pas le Sentier
des Huguenots et des Vaudois du Piémont qui traverse son village. C’est peu
connu. Quand nous avons demandé à Hans-Peter combien de personnes il
rencontrait qui faisait ce chemin à pied, il nous a répondu : « Vous
êtes les deux seuls cette année… » et on est mi-juillet !
In Daisbach, we meet “by chance” another “angel” :
Daniel, a Frenchman who immigrated here and who is the current mayor the town.
He hears us speaking French and invites us to his house for a cup of coffee and
to share a bit about our respective life journeys. A nice encounter. We’re only
partially surprised when Daniel tells us that he has never heard of the
Huguenot and Waldensian Trail that runs through his town. It’s not well-known.
When we asked Hans-Peter how many people he met who were hiking this trail, he
answered: “You two are the first ones this year…” and we’re already in the
middle of July!
